How to prepare for our monthly meetings:

At home, read the Bible passages indicated for that meeting.  Older students can read independently or with parents from the Orthodox Study Bible.  Younger students can read or be read to from the Study Bible or an appropriate children’s Bible.

Review the Learn By Heart material (on the Bible Response pages) to memorize Psalm 50 and the Ten Commandments.  The best way to memorize is to review at regular intervals (daily, if possible).  Parents can help their kids to break the material down into workable pieces.  It is not necessary to complete the Bible Response pages at home.  That material, along with the Story Questions, will be covered in class.

Print the lessons from the Year of the Word PDF (emailed to you).  The first week has been done for you.  Pages can be printed monthly, or for the whole year.  Insert the pages into your child’s STICKS folder.

Bring an item for charity.  Items needed are listed above in blue.  Pantry items will be distributed locally.  Other items will be packaged and sent to the IOCC (International Orthodox Christian Charities) for distribution.  You can visit the IOCC online to learn more about their health kits.
